10 years!!

10 years with this wonderful guy! My in-laws were so kind to babysit the girls over the weekend so we could get away. We took the motorcycle to Snoqualmie Pass and stayed at cabin for the weekend. It was so nice and relaxing.

Next stop...Lake Wenatchee!

The C shift families on the fire department have a yearly camping trip that they go on. We were excited to meet other families on the department. Only one other family went on the trip, but we still had lots of fun. We liked the campground a lot. We did learn in the middle of the night that our rain fly does not work. Ben had to put a tarp over our tent at 2am. We spent the morning drying out our tent, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads. If you don't have a dryer to dry things in, turning the heat on full blast in the car works wonders!!

Leavenworth...cute town!

Our tent on day 1...we did not stay dry!

Our tent on day 2...we stayed very dry!

Our electric pump was not working in the great outdoors so Ben blew up the mattress.
He almost passed out.

Swimming at the lake. The water was freezing!

Rafting on the lake

Side note...five people do not fit on this little raft. That is why Caemlyn is hanging on the side. The girls took turns hanging on the side. The raft did suffer from this abuse (Sorry Mom!)

Notice the chipmunk on the rock. The chipmunks at the campsite were a little aggressive and would do anything for food.

Our group hiking back from the lake

The kids loved playing on this fallen tree

Gotta love the selfies! I only do selfies because my husband hates it :)

We found a great hike that was good for the kids. After about 1 mile, it started pouring on us. We cut the hike short.

O Canada!!

O Canada! It is nice to not live on the other side of the planet from my SIL anymore. They are only a 10 hour drive away (which is still a long drive). We spent a week with family and had a lot of fun.

We had a great adventure driving home. We ended up going the long way home, but it was very pretty. The line to cross the border was a 2 hour wait and our car decided to die while we were waiting in the traffic. This very nice lady tried to help us jump it, but it was not working. The battery could not get enough juice to start again. Ben had to push the car to the side and we lost our place in line. Ben left me and the girls waiting in the van while this nice lady was trying to get us help with her OnStar. At this point, Caemlyn was freaking out in the backseat. She was certain that we would just have to live on the side of the road forever and we would never make it home. After a lot of prayer and waiting, I decided to try and start the car again. Thirty minutes passed from the last time we tried to start it. And it started!!! I was able to get back in line and then I had to wait for Ben. I was hoping that I would not have to pay Canadian prices for a tow truck and new battery. Fortunately for us, the OnStar did not work and Ben wasn't able to get a tow truck.

We drove through Glacier National Park in Montana. It was beautiful, but sadly we could not stop and enjoy it. I am sure our car would not have started again! We stopped at the first Walmart that we saw and was able to buy a new battery.
