Playing in the rain

Our trip to the park

We are loving the nice weather and decided to go to the park. Addi just got a new bike and loves riding it all over the neighborhood.

My cute girls!

Addi got this new fancy stroller for christmas and this is what the girls like to do with it:

Caemlyn sits in it and Addi pushes all over the house. They even pretend to stop at the library and Caemlyn gets to read a book while being pushed around. I thought it was cute!!

Voted #1 Nerdy Youth

I am posting this kinda late, but had to still post about it! We went to a very fun New Year's Eve party at our friend's house. They asked everyone to bring in their nerdiest youth picture and then we would vote on the winner.

Too much of our surprise, Ben won! This is the picture that I picked. All I have to say is that he is Rad. So Rad :)

My trouble maker is at it again!!

Seriously...Desitin?! My trouble maker couldn't pick something harder to get out of the carpet and wall?!?

I cannot take my eyes off of Caemlyn for two seconds. I think I have to gate her in a very small area with nothing in it for anything to remain safe. In case this does happen to you...wipe clean with clean cloth. Pour baking soda on spot (or spots and child in my case), let sit for about an hour. Continue cleaning carpet by blotting any residue left behind with a mild dish soap. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Repeat steps if necessary. This is the link where I found that nice tip: http://cleaning.lifetips.com/tip/96539/cleaning-carpet/cleaning-carpet-tips/zinc-oxide-desitin-stain-removal-from-carpet.html

In Loving Memory

In Loving Memory of Rosemary Nettie Kratzberg Schaad

October 23, 1926 - December 13, 2008

I am so grateful that I was able to see my Grandma one last time before she passed away. I love my Grandma so much and will miss her. I do know that she is in a better place now and completely healthy again. She also lived a long and full life.

My Grandma's life story:
Rosemary Schaad was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Henry and Olympia Kratzberg. She grew up in Metairie, Louisiana. She had one older brother named Henry.

Rosemary met Raymond (my Grandpa) at a service club dance in November of 1945 at Camp Plauche, Louisiana where he was stationed after servicing tour of duty in Europe. After Raymond was discharged he went back to California and soon returned to New Orleans to marry Rosemary on July 29, 1946. The new couple moved to Davis, California where Raymond went to college.

Rosemary was primarily a homemaker, raising three daughters, Linda (my Mom), Patricia and Suzanne. At various times she performed volunteer work for churches and hospital guilds. She was a volunteer coordinator for Saint Agnes Club 55 Plus for many years. She was a member of St. Columbia Church. She served on the St. Columbia Altar Guild until her health failed her. Through the years, Rosemary developed a talent for sewing and a passion for creating art, becoming an accomplished artisit in oil, acrylics and watercolor.

Trip to Vegas for the holidays

I was home from San Francisco for two days, and then we drove to Las Vegas. The trip was awesome. We stayed at Ben's grandparents house at Mt. Charleston. It snowed a lot while we were there. Addison loved playing in the snow and going sledding. We had a great time seeing all of Ben's family and his friends. Ben's sister, Rachel, planned this whole trip and got all the family there. She is amazing and so talented in everything that she does. She kept everything organized and planned. And she was traveling with her family, from Canada, since Thanksgiving. (I do not know how you did that). Thanks for everything Rachel!!

I didn't take a TON of pictures, but I did take a lot and I had to post almost all of them (of course)!! So just keep scrolling to see all the pictures.

We woke up to a winter wonderland. Lots of snow!

Addi was not too sure about the deep snow at first. But, she learned to love it.

Trip to San Francisco

At the beginning of December, I flew out to San Francisco to see my parents and grandparents (and to get my new car, but that is just a little side note). My brother and his family were able to fly out too. I was kid free for this trip, but that is only because I didn't want to make my kids suffer for a plane ride, then a 14 hour car drive home, and then an eight hour car drive to Vegas. I just wanted to make it easier on them :) Ben was awesome and watched the kids. They had a lot of fun. Aunt Marjory even got to babysit one night and I know the girls loved seeing their favorite aunt.

I was really bad and did not take one picture during my whole trip. My mom and aunt were nice enough to share some pictures.

My first night there, I got to go on a date with my dad, also known as Bishop Laymon, to his single's ward service auction activity. My mom wasn't able to go, so I went in her place. I had a lot of fun hanging out with my Dad all night.

The next day, we drove to Fresno to see my Grandparents. I had a really nice time seeing everyone. I really liked hanging out with my Aunt Tricia and Uncle Rick. My grandpa made a really yummy dinner for everyone. It was such a nice visit. I am so grateful that I was able to go and see my Grandma one last time (that is another post).

My Dad was so kind to agree to drive my new car (their old car) home with me. We stopped in southern CA to see his parents and spent the night there. Overall, it was an easy 14 hour trip. I enjoyed spending the time with my Dad. Thanks Dad for going with me and helping me drive!!!

First baby doctor appointment

I went to my first doctor appointment today. Addison came with me and was very excited about it. We got to listen to the baby's heartbeat, which the doctor said sounds very strong. And I finally have a due date...July 14th! Addison was changing her mind everyday about if she wanted a brother or a sister. But, now she has decided that she wants a sister so she has another girl to play dress up with. Caemlyn really doesn't know anything is going on, but I can get her to pat my belly and say hi to the baby.
